Overview
In this assignment, you will begin by watching presentations on types of soil. You will learn how soil is formed. You will examine soils and identify them by their characteristics.
Instructions
Take some soil samples from the kit you’ve received. If you don’t have a kit, get permission to dig some soil from outside. You may also visit a garden center to find out about soils and gather samples. This may require an adult to help you if you have to leave the yard.
Use the readings and videos to identify the soils. Take a picture, make a video or sketch of the soils and your findings. Complete this for the soil that is most common in your area. Create a Word document, PowerPoint or other presentation model for your work.
