Welcome to Earth's Changes and Materials
This online course will teach you about Earth’s features. You will learn what Earth is made of.
- Explore rocks, minerals land and water features.
- Start your own rock, mineral and fossil collection.
- Do experiments and keep a journal just like scientists.
- Outside activities will include detecting what kind of soil is near you.
- Discover water and land features close by.
- At the end of the course you will understand the basics of what Earth is made of and the changes that occur.

Delivery
This course is divided into 8 modules or units. Each unit has its own activities, reading quizzes, projects or tests. Some units may build on things you learned earlier. There will be a discussion in each module. It will require some activity before you post your thinking. You will submit everything online. You will need to log in often to stay up to date.
Workload
Earth’s Materials and Changes is a third grade level course. It will take 1 or 2 hours for each module. You may complete some modules faster than others. You should log on at least three times a week.
